Technical Architect - Capital Projects Heathrow T2 Integrated Control Systems

Part of a 2.5bn Capital Project re-development Programme Team tasked to deliver around 45 key business and operational applications into Heathrow’s new Terminal and Eastern Campus expansion. Direct reports to the Programme Director by conducting in-depth compliance audits and risk assessments as well as providing viable upgrade paths to migrate systems built on legacy platforms to the latest technologies. This had a high level of complexity, politically, logistically and contractually with a stakeholder base covering the client Leadership function, building contractors, outsourcers and third parties as well as liaison with business and operational functions in a highly regulated and safety focused environment. Facilitated CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) training for technical staff

Key Achievements-

  • Leading the team defining the new technology platform for Heathrow’s Flight Information Display system, implementing an offsite test and development environment offsite and being the point person during migration
  • Led the design, build and test phases of the Taxi Management System including the Risk Assessment, Vulnerability, Testing and Compliance relating to radio and WLAN interference
  • Resolved software and hardware compatibility issues affecting the new CCTV solution being tested offsite and engaged with local support teams to implement resolutions
  • Member of the technical architecture team charged with analysing all critical systems, documenting vulnerabilities and recommending appropriate solutions
