With over a decade of experience in the software industry, Lance Speck has achieved considerable success in the sales management field. Currently the Vice President and General Manager of Austin, Texas-based Pervasive Software Inc., Speck leads a series of sales and marketing teams who are accountable for nearly half of the company’s annual revenue. Capitalizing on his expansive knowledge of the industry, Lance Speck has formed professional relationships with numerous major distributors, independent software vendors, hosted service providers, and system integrators. Starting his career during his collegiate years at The University of Texas at Austin, Lance Speck spent a year with Lotus Development Corporation as an Inside Sales Representative. In addition to software duties such as creating and maintaining computer workflow applications, Lance Speck organized information and training for sales projects and managed telemarketing sales leads. Upon joining Pervasive Software, he worked his way up to Account Executive before joining a software startup in Austin.Known today as Univa, United Devices, Inc., was in the early stages of production when Lance Speck was hired as a Senior Account Executive. Working with United Devices during its first two rounds of venture capital funding, Speck recruited some of his former colleagues to the organization. Before returning to Pervasive Software in 2001, he played an role in providing United Devices with a solid foundation in there early years.A dedicated professional, Lance Speck is a member of The Software & Information Industry Association, a Salesforce.com user group, and Austin Cloud User Group. A father of two, he enjoys spending time with his family as well as playing sports, hunting, and running. Lance Speck also supports various charities, such as The American National Red Cross, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the March of Dimes Foundation, and Wounded Warrior Project.
