My scope of work is:

  • Manage DM (Dubai Municipality) structural inspections for shoring, foundation, & slabs and get the approvals before concrete pouring.
  • Coordinate between client, consultant, site team from side and local authorities from the other side in order to reach the authorities handing over point smoothly including completion inspections from local authorities (DM, DCD, DEWA, and RTA).
  • Insure that all materials at site are complying with local authorities specifications and regulations.
  • support site team with any issues related with local authorities.
  • Providing all required permits & NOC's for construction phase from the local authorities (DM, RTA, DEWA, DCD, DCL, DCAA, & Du/ETISALAT).
  • follow-up through DM portal and get the approved drawings & apply for required inspections.

  • Establishment of all necessary points from the drawings to the ground for building elements (slabs level ,walls and openings) so site engineers can identify the location of these elements.

Highway Engineer (Internship 1)

Project: Queen Alia International Airport Highway

Experience gained:

  • Surveying the land before proceeding with any works; which involved sampling the soil and analyzing it back at the laboratories (CBR test, P.L & L.L limit test, marshal test and water content test), as well as producing necessary reports needed for complying with the American requirements in Jordan.
  • Highway construction stages from sub-grade layer to asphalt surface, going through specifications, materials and implementation.

  • How to use surveying instruments (Auto Level and Total Station)
  • Use computer application in civil engineering (ETABS, AutoCAD,SAP2000,Robot,safe)
  • Study all materials used in construction works.
  • Soil mechanics.

Graduating project over view:

     Project was about analyzing and designing a reinforced concrete structure for residential building (five floors) with a  total area of 4122 square meter. The building consisted of raft foundation, rectangular columns, rectangular beams, one way ribbed slabs, shear walls and retaining walls. In addition to the aforementioned overview, I had to analyze & foresee the usage patterns, involving the peak weight loads, including furniture layouts provided by architects, as well as, people and estimated guests/visitors.
