Registered Nurse

Summary

I feel very strongly that nursing is not just a job, it is a calling.  My goal is to be a competent, skilled nurse who provides compassionate care to my patients.  I graduated from Weatherford College in May of 2012 as salutatorian of the Associate degree RN program.  Upon graduating I completed the nurse intern program at Wise Regional Health System in Decatur, Texas.  There I worked in the challenging area of med/surg dealing with a variety of patients and disease processes.  For the last two and a half years I have had the opportunity to work with wound care patients at Weatherford Regional Medical Center in both the inpatient and outpatient clinical setting.  In that setting I have been able to continue learning and gaining new skills/techniques such as wound assessment and negative pressure wound therapy.  I've also been able to hone my skills and learn how to be more effective in communicating with my patients.  I truly believe that we never stop learning and I am a work in progress committed to being the best nurse I can be.

Interest

I have been blessed with an amazing husband and three beautiful daughters who take up most of my free time.  We enjoy just spending time together and I cherish every moment I have with them.  I am very passionate about my faith and am actively involved in my church.   I love to worship through music and I enjoy singing in the church choir.  I am also an animal lover and a farm girl at heart.  I feel that I am a positive, upbeat person who gets along well with others.  I love to brighten someone's day and feel happiest when I'm encouraging and lifting others up.

Objective

To work as a registered nurse in the school setting providing quality medical care for students while also advocating for the mental, emotional, physical and social well being of those students.
