At Fieldcrest Elementary school, I also obtained three grant opportunities from DonorsChoose.org and also from Target Field Trip Grants. I created many new opportunities for our students by introducing them to opera and baroque instruments such as the recorder.
We played African drumming compositions in our 6th grade classes and learned about good character traits at the same time. Our 5th grade students had the opportunity to create their own musical compositions using the iMac that I brought from home. 4th grade students learned to play recorders after the grant from DonorsChoose.org was kind enough to grant our wish for classroom instruments and music stands. Our 2nd and 3rd grade students learned to play on Harmonica's as well as many other classroom instruments to get them excited about musical opportunities in the future. Kindergarten and 1st grade students got extra visual attention from the wonderful music symbol rug we received.
I am skilled in both instrumental and vocal private lessons as well as group lessons. Students wishing to learn a new instrument always have the opportunity to learn on a one-on-one basis before or after school hours.
