Sigma Phi Epsilon, Vice President of Finance
While attending Washington State University, I became a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. I have been an active member since April 2008. In November 2008, I was elected as Vice President of Finance for the WSU Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon. I took office in January 2009 for the one-year term. As Vice President of Finance, I was responsible for all Treasurer activities. My duties included, but were not limited to, reconciling the fraternity bank account, collecting and depositing funds from members and developing and managing the annual budget. I gained an extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Excel while serving in this position. The local annual budget was approximately $80,000. I successfully supervised all fraternity spending during my term in office.
Sigma Phi Epsilon, Press Relations Chair
From August 2010 to May 2011 I served as the Press Relations Chairman for Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. My primary function was to inform the daily student newspaper and the campus radio station at Washington State University of Sigma Phi Epsilon activities and involvement on the WSU campus and the surrounding Pullman community. This was achieved through creating News Releases and personal contact with the student newspaper and radio station.
As a student at Washington State University I created a media outlet that kept students up to date on entertainment news around the Pullman community. This media outlet was called Cougartainment. It operated using only free social media sites. The outlet used the blog website Blogger.com as the main destination for information. There was also a Facebook profile and a Twitter account. They were both used to disseminate content to the public as well as the main blog website. Besides written stories I created, produced and edited podcasts, slideshows with embedded audio, and videos.
