  • Assume a two-year commitment in which I was first trained as President-Elect of the Student Dietetic Association (SDA) for one year, and then required to serve as President of the club for one year. 
  • Duties Include:

-President-Elect:  Assume presidency in the absence of the president.  Arrange speaker and/or activities for all SDA meetings.  Prepare and put on the annual SDA Banquet and National Nutrition Month Booth in the Spring.  Reinstate the organization every year through the Student Activities office.  Reserve all rooms, tables and chairs for club meetings and activities.

-President: Preside over all general and officer meetings.  Organize yearly calender with the officers and advisor.  Appoint necessary committees and act as an ex-officio member of all committees.  Prepare agenda for all meetings.  Organize the SDA's annual Dietetic Internship Symposium.  Act a student liaison on the Central Valley Dietetic Association's board.

  • Act as a leader, mentor, and role-model to students part of the Kingsburg Community Church Youth Program.

Senior Contests Chair and Vice President

Fresno State FFA Field Day Committee
  • Assume a two-year commitment in which I was a member of the committee on the Fresno State campus in charge of planning and organizing three FFA Field Days a year, including the largest FFA Field Day in the state of California: the Fresno State FFA Field Day and State Finals Contest held in April.
  • An FFA Field Day is and event in which high school students, involved in the Agricultural programs at their school, come together to compete in various Agriculturally related contest. These contests help them develop skills that can be used in their future college and professional careers.
  • Duties include:

-Senior Contests Chair: Involved registering and filing paperwork/payments for over 300 schools, and 2,000 students throughout the state of California for the Fresno State FFA Field Day; contacting various teachers and contest advisers to resolve any issues that might arise; using a internet-based registration program to receive contest registration information from schools.

-Vice-President: Elected as Vice President of the 20 member FFA Field Day Committee to assist the president in maintaining order at meetings, and running them in her absence; making decisions and leading committee members during our various events throughout the year; maintaining a Master Binder with all committee members information for reference.

Volunteer: Meal Rounds and Nutritional Screenings

St. Agnes Medical Center
  • Volunteer in the Dietetics Department under Vanathy Vivekananthan, RD.
  • Duties Include:

-Meal Rounds: Visited patients in the hospital to survey them about their satisfaction with St. Agnes Medical Center's (SAMC) in-patient foodservice.  The food service operations at SAMC used the information I collected to improve their food quality and service to their patients.

-Nutritional Screenings: Screen all newly admitted patient's charts, throughout the hospital, for any indication that the on-staff Dietitians needed to see the patient.  Registered Dietitians relied on my service/accuracy so they could visit all patients in need of consulting in a timely manner.

KidsInvent!, Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
  • KidsInvent!, part of the Lyle's Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at CSU Fresno, provides elementary and middle school children with hands on applications of science and math through innovative and creative activities. 
  • Duties Include:

-Work with a team of 4 other individuals to oversee a group of 20-30 children aged 6-12 at a summer camp program designed to teach kids about science, creativity and entrepreneurship.

-Assist children in the various math, science, and creative projects.

-Maintain discipline and organization within the classroom setting.
