I am currently a student at Radford University pursuing a degree in both Parks, Recreation and Tourism as well as Journalism.  I am an adventure recreation enthusiast and consider myself among a dwindling population of professional outdoor leaders.

I enjoy working with/ teaching groups of differing sizes, ages and cultural backgrounds about developing ethical conservationist and usage practices in the outdoors.  I get a great deal of personal fulfillment from teaching others about their natural environment whether it be through day hikes, backpacking trips, climbing trips and clinics.

My hobbies, activities and experiences in the outdoors are the foundation for a great deal of my higher education and grant me the opportunity to make a career out of what I love to do.  I also enjoy writing stories for our student run paper, "The Tartan" and see myself becoming a freelance environmental editorial writer in the future.
