A bit about me...

I have learnt a lot about myself through progression in a counselling course, and attribute my successes to my employers, family and my daughter. 
  • Practiced in management of myself, other people and tasks with deadlines in multiple industries including hospitality, utility and telecommunications. All of this of course is encompassed by a burning desire to help others with an empathetic but procedural mindframe.

Led a team of up to ten crew members in order to achieve the Company's strategic and innovative plans to be Australia's fastest growing quick service food restaurant. Worked alongside other managers and used collaborative thinking and planning in order to continue focusing on this goal and to develop my interpersonal skills. 

  • Worked a 3 week rotating roster, including late night work and work on public holidays. Often worked in excess of 45 hours a week, not including "extra-cirricular" events like leading the OHS team in store and training, fill-ins (Rockhampton once!) and preparation for new stores. 
  • Implemented new ways of thinking in the business, including a "CrewConnect" system which electronically sent crew rosters and store alerts. Worked with other managers to plan rostering, budgets and inventory. 
  • Successfully completed Foundations of Shift Management Training (Burger King) 
  • Left the company with a Certificate III in Hospitality, ServSafe International Certification and Chubb Fire Training/Alsco First Aid Training certificates.

TELSTRA CORPORATION LTD

Stood on a stage in Melbourne among other high achievers within Telstra in the most pivotal moment in my adult life - being awarded the Telstra Extreme award for FY13-14 purely for sales results for the Company by the CEO. Back home I was relied upon for handling customer enquiries and complaints, proactively searching for solutions for our customers and being entrusted the use of all internal Telstra systems. 

  • Conducted all types of interactions for customers including new connections, upgrades, package deals, bundles and business connections. 
  • Worked a flexible changing roster over 7 days a week and was often working in excess of 40 hours a week. 
  • Adhered to strict privacy and legislative requirements of the Company and taught other new beginners how to do so towards the end of my time at Telstra. 
  • Followed up with customers and ensured there was as little disruption to services or ongoing issues as possible
  • Learnt Insight 101 psychology by Geist Psychology to build rapport and get to know people rapidly and excel in building relationships with them.

Utility Worker

MORRIS CORPORATION

Worked long, hot but rewarding days on a 14 day on, 7 day off roster to facilitate the camps of workers in the Surat Basin QGC project, working under contract to QGC in their mission to take LNG from the Chinchilla/Miles area to Curtis Island. Met some of the best people in my life in that role and they were a second family. 

  • Maintained dongas and camp grounds. 
  • Worked under extremely stringent safety requirements and learnt about HSE, chemicals and PPE
  • Involved in many social events and catered (and was catered for) by the Company. 
  • Worked remotely with limited access to city life, but loved every minute of it. Left the role after my daughter was born.
