Assistant

Bernard Mason Investments

While working at BMI I choreographed the day to day activities of a busy real estate development office as well as being directly involved in the design, planning and logistic management of several major hotels in New Orleans.  I worked in conjunction with the Interior Designers, Engineers, Architects and the Corporate Entities of several major hotel chains.  We participated in and were partners in hotels such as The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans, Mason Orleans, and Iberville Suites.

My office responsibilities included accounting and check disbursement, Mr. Mason’s professional and personal correspondence, organization, and generally responsible for all activities within the office.

Outside of the office my activities included representing Mr. Mason at certain low level meetings, working with Interior Designers and Auction Houses for the delivery or storage of antiques or other extremely valuable goods for later use in the hotels, and striving to spot problems in huge jobs that may result in trouble and delays.

This job was constantly evolving and always an adventure.Mr. Mason and I remain friends to this day.I learned a great deal from him about managing people and how to conduct myself in stressful and contentious situations.
