Description:scope of work for Saipem consists of transportation and installation of 5 platform jackets (4 lifts, 1 launch), 5 platform decks (4 lifts, 1 mating), laying of 3 pipelines and installation of a Floating, Storage and Offloading (FSO) unit.

Main tasks:

  • performing installation engineering and preparing installation procedures;
  • organizing and supervising the activities of the project draftsmen;
  • keeping contacts with the partners of the Consortium (TECHNIP, SAMSUNG), the client and the Marine Warranty Surveyor (London Offshore Consultants).
  • following procurement activities,
  • preparing schedules and cost assessment forbarges and material transportation;

Temsah Field Development (Yard Representative, Field Engineer) - September-October 2000


Description:installation of a gas platform by means of Heavy Lifting Vessel Pearl Marine in Temsah field location, offshore Port Said.

Main tasks:

  • planning and supervising the workers' activities in coordination with manufacturer/client (PETROJET, PETROBEL) in the Maadia Petrojet yard (Alexandria of Egypt),
  • Inspecting, accepting or rejecting the equipment before jacket loadout,
  • providing solutions for offshore operations
  • work as a reference point for the client's representatives on board (PETROJET, PETROBEL) and Marine Warranty Surveyor (RINA).

  • SHELL Deepwater Development Systems, Inc. (SDDSI):Deepwater Concrete and FBE Removal Tool.
  • SHELL Deepwater Development Systems, Inc. (SDDSI): Pipeline End Preparation Tool.
  • DMBS - Deepwater Multiphase Boosting System (field and installation analysis, commercialization).
  • SHELL: Hydrates and paraffin blockage detection in subsea pipelines (feasibility study)
  • AMOCO: Liuhua manifold leakage remedial.
  • Innovator Project: scope of work was to build in-house the first work-class ROV, 3,500-m water depth rated. The first two ROVs have been delivered on schedule and under budget and successfully tested on board of Saipem 7000. Main responsibilities: design of mechanical and hydraulic parts and Material Requirement Planning.

Scorpion 24 ROV system - Gulf of Mexico - July 1998: scope of work of the project was a template installation on a subsea wellhead and a sea bottom survey for pipeline installation.

One-year contract interrupted after two months and a half due to the call to arms by Italian Army. Main projects:

  • Ariane 5: upper stage venting feasibility assessment. Responsible for team supervision, interface with the clients, development of theoretical, modeling and computational schemes.
  • CTV: a common study between ESA and NASA for a Crew Transfer Vehicle for the International Space Station.
