  • Attended an UGC sponsored National Conference on Modern Trends of Chemistry in the 21st Century organized by Paul’s Cathedral College & Ananda Mohan College in February 2012.
  • Attended a seminar CHEMZEAL-2014 held on 18th of February 2014 at Pondicherry University.

Project

Currently working on one year project on “Main group organometallic chemistry with focus on Al & Mg chemistry. Main-group metal based (Supported by Organic Ligands) catalysts: for production of biodegradable polymers by Ring Opening Polymerization of ε-Caprolactone & Lactide” under the supervision of Dr. N. Dastagiri Reddy (Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Pondicherry University).

  • Computational Chemistry Calculations:
  • Spartan: Building the molecules in the appropriate point groups.
  • Gaussians: a) Used for Ab-initio calculations like Hatree Fock and Post Hatre fock method.

  • b) DFT and semi empirical method to calculate and comparison stabilities of HOMO-LUMO gap and geometrical optimization.
  • c) Characterization of the nature of stationary points in the molecular potential energy and computing the IR/Raman/NMR Spectra.

             3)   Cacao :Using extended Hückel based CACAO program we can establish correlation diagram of elements in periodic table and can analyze electronic effects like hyper conjugative stabilization, conjugative interaction and impact on HOMO-LUMO gap.

             4) Others: Chemdraw, Scifinder , ORTEP, CCDC, OLEX, C, C++.

             5) Operating Systems : MS-Office, MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.

  • Skill in handling Glove-Box and Bench Top Schlenk Lines.
  • Skill in separation techniques like TLC, Column Chromatography & distillation techniques like Kugelrohr, Short-Path Distillation, Dean Stark apparatus etc.
  • Know to handle moisten sensitive chemicals like n-butyl Lithium, AlCl3,AlMe3, Sodium metals, n-butyl Magnesium, Potassium tert-butoxide, Dimethyl aluminium chloride etc.
  • Characterization of compounds using IR, UV & NMR.
