While a student at Mt. San Antonio College (Mt.-Sac) in Walnut, California, I joined the forensics team and began my long involvement with public speaking. I competed in Debate, Impromptu Speaking Speech to Entertain, and attended the Phi Rho Pi National Speech Tournament in Omaha, Nebraska. After moving to San Diego, I enrolled at Gorssmont College and continued my involvement with public discourse. Later I transferred to San Diego State University, joined their forensics program and was choosen to represent the University at the National Forensics Association Tournament in Eastern Michigan.
After earning my BA in Speech Communication I began working as a stand-up comic and founded a talent agency called Limelight Entertainment. Currently, I am a professional humorous speaker with a focus on healthcare. I have always enjoyed learning and recently earned a Masters of Arts in Strategic Communication from National University. I have taken courses in Public Relations, Marketing and Persuasion, to name a few. The program familiarized me with various communication platforms including traditional, electronic and social media. I have also learned to effectively analyze formulate and present integrated marketing campaigns. Years of practice and fresh theory have given me a unique insight I now wish to share. My current goal is to teach communication courses and impart my skills and experience to college students. Ultimately, I am seeking a full-time position teaching communication courses and coaching forensics in the Southern California area.
