Summary

My name is Katie Amodei. I am a recent graduate from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa, where I studied Film and Media Arts. I concentrated my studies on film editing and digital animation. I am currently commuting to New York City from Philadelphia.  I am looking for an entry level or assitant position as an Editor and/or graphic designer. I am willing to relocate and start as an apprentice or assistant to get my foot in the door.

Special Operations

Virgil Films and Entertainment

Virgil Films is primarily a film distribution company. We buy the rights to films and distribute them to several different retailers. I perform many duties including handling web orders for online public purchases. I also submit New Release forms to our current buyers including Blockbuster and Red Box. I assist the Marketing Department in graphic design projects. I created the animated logo that appears before every Virgil Films' release. This was used for the company logo as well. I help out each department with various day to day operations.

Warrior Poets

During my Spring -08 semester at Temple University I intered at Academy Award nominee Morgan Spurlock's company Warrior Poets. I peformed mostly clerical work including answering phones, inputting information onto Excel documents, inventory, and product delivery. At the time of my internship, Spurlock released his feature-film documentary Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden? I helped with some of the post-production. I cataloged all music, and credits. I also sorted through footage to prepare for the DVD. I had hands on experience with the footage and film.

Bachelor of the Arts

Temple University

I was in the Film and Media Arts program of the School of Communications and Theatre. I concentrated my studies on digital film editing and digital animation. I maintained a minimum of at least a 3.2 GPA during my academic career and I graduated on the Dean's List. Programs that I worked on at Temple include but are not limited to, Final Cut Pro, Avid, Photoshop, Lightwave 3D, Adode After Affects, Microsoft Excel, Soundtrack Pro, and Maya 3D.

I was enrolled in the Digital and Media Arts program. I was one of roughly 60 students accepted out of hundreds of applicants. This was a hands on fast paced program. We concentrated on every aspect of the filmmaking process. During my Sophmore year, my film was chosen as one of  "Best of Production 2." It was during this time that I chose to concentrate my studies on Film Editing. Programs I learned include but are not limited to Final Cut Pro, Avid, Photoshop, Motion, and Soundtrack Pro.
