Introduction

Welcome to my VisualCV.

I developed this web page to provide you with a more detailed overview of my professional interests and experiences. I appreciate your interest and trust that you will find this information of value.

Interests

I enjoy working with organizations to help them develop and grow their businesses. Strategic planning, marketing, sales, product management, training, and customer service are all areas of interest to me and align well with my skills, training, and experience.

Technology has played a signficant role in my career and I enjoy working with various technologies and applications as a user and in roles including account manager, creative team member, trainer, and project manager.

Background

My career has been highlighted by a diverse range of entrepreneurial, business management, sales, marketing, training, and project management opportunities.

I began my career as co-founder and CEO of a company named Publishing Solutions. This company was a systems integrator responsible for the sale, installation, training, and technical support of technology used by communication professionals including those working for corporate marketing departments, advertising agencies, printers, and specialists such as photographers, copywriters, and graphic designers. The company was capitalized through personal investments and retained earnings.

This experience provided me with opportunities to perform responsibilities including general management, business development / sales, technical management, training, and project management. We were fortunate to recruit and develop a strong group of professionals and the firm experienced much success, including being recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in Northeast Ohio (Case Western Weatherhead 100 award winner 1994-1996).

In 1995, my business partner and I along with several company members started a new division which evolved into a separate company named <eyemg> (web development firm). Both firms were later acquired in 1997 by a publicly held organization named MultiGraphics (manufacturer / distributor of printing equipment technology & supplies).

During the following two and one-half years, I performed in an executive management position having responsibilities for sales, technical management, marketing, and project management for various initiatives including new product introductions, training programs, and trade shows. This was a period of growth for our organization as we expanded our services nationally. Ultimately, MultiGraphics was acquired during a period of industry consolidation and a decision was made to close the operations of Publishing Solutions in August 2000.

Following, I pursued further education and completed the Executive MBA program at The Ohio State University - Fisher College of Business in 2003. While in school, I provided independent business consulting services. I also worked part-time for Graphic Intelligence Agency in both business development and training roles working with advanced color management applications within the graphic arts market. After graduation, I worked briefly for a publisher and then joined Clayman Advertising in May 2005.

As Vice-President of Development at Clayman Advertising, I helped companies in multiple industries improve the effectiveness of their B2B marketing and sales performance. My responsibilities included business development, account management, copywriting / editing, and integrated marketing plan development. In September 2008, I voluntarily resigned (friendly transition) this position to pursue new opportunities.

Presently, I am providing business consulting services including for a manufacturer involved in the Automotive Aftermarket industry.

I continue to pursue further education including through professional associations and self-study.

Summary

Entrepreneurial professional with over twenty years of successful experience in business management, consulting, sales, marketing, training, and project management.
