I work as a sound technician in a puppet theatre. Recently I got more interested in sound design for games and movies. With all the knowledge I gained in the theatre and on my own, I want to proceed with my career and start working in a field I can be more creative in and which excites me the most.

Sound Technician

Teatr Animacji in Poznan

a) I'm responsible for playing back music and sound effects and controlling the levels during performances.

b) Apart from that I take part in premieres preparation and work with composers during that time. If it's needed I perform basic editing tasks (e.g. cut or loop tracks the composer's delivering) and record voiceovers. Then I program the shows in QLab Live Show Control.

c) I travel a lot with the troupe and take part in various festivals, mostly throughout Poland, but I've also been to Canada and Russia where we performed.

d) Maintenance and improvement of a sound system in a theatre are also my duties as a sound tech.

Audio Editing Software Skills

I use Cubase for music production and designing sound effects. It's a DAW I use on a daily basis.

Adobe Audition

Audition works for me best when it comes to cleaning audio or editing a voiceover. That's the software I use at work. Sometimes I use it for sound design as well.

Ableton Live

Live is the first DAW I ever used and I made a lot of music with it. I'm comfortable working in this environment, even though I switched to Cubase quite some time ago.

I did sound design for this short movie.
