About Me

My name is Kristin Batz and I graduated from Purdue University in May of this year with my bachelor's degree in Mass communication. I am ambitious, enthusiastic, and dedicated. I have enriched myself with opportunities to grow in the field of news broadcasting and journalism. I was a summer news writer for WGN-TV, in Chicago, this summer. I wrote for the 5 o'clock and 9 o'clock news daily. I learned the responsibilities of a TV news writer, and worked closely with producers, reporters, and editors. I also interned on the assignment desk at WGN-TV, in Chicago, in the summer of 2011. I worked closely with assignment editors, reporters, photographers, and editors on their daily news stories. I would also field produce anytime I was given the chance.

I reported, wrote, and produced for Purdue University’s local news team, Fast Track. With that, I was able to write, shoot, edit, and report my own stories. I have a strong work ethic and an eagerness to learn. My other strengths are my leadership abilities. I was senior captain of the Purdue Dance Team. I believe I possess the desired skills are requirements to excel in the field of mass communication.
