Pre-Season: -Building and managing department/class/brand plans for the whole dog food category - by channel and banner for base and non-base store groupings - based on strategy guidance and in reconciliation to top down budgets -Creating post season analysis/reporting and lead the review of financial results and business drivers. -Partnering with Merchants and other CMO partners on consensus financial and unit planning to drive goal setting and ownership. -Participating in the collaborative development of business strategy and growth initiatives. -Forecasting and analyzing impact of marketing events and product entrance/exit strategies. -Building and managing key item plans to ensure good receipt flows in order to maximize profitability and minimize markdown liability and unnecessary supply chain costs. -Providing regular and ad hoc analysis for two vendors to both internal and external vendor teams in order to drive sales and improve profitability -Analyzing sales, consumer behavior and promotional effectiveness to distinguish risks and opportunities within the business and make recommendations to the Vendor and Merchant teams. -Developing tests for various marketing/pricing initiatives in limited stores and markets; evaluating results and suggesting action plans. -Meeting with vendors regularly to present analysis, conclusions and resulting action points to drive sales and profit improvement. -Performing regular analysis of P.A.L.S. database to analyze and examine customer trends, market-basket profitability, and merchandise affinities. -Working with Merchants and Vendor to develop most effective marketing strategies and merchandise offers to drive incremental vendor sales and market-basket improvements. -Developing weekly performance analysis of vendors' top SKUs, new items, seasonal SKUs, worst performing SKUs, and other SKU rationalization activities. -Investigating SKU performance to determine the effectiveness of new product launches. -Developing and maintaining reports through Excel, Access and Microstrategy -Obtaining and organizing sales, inventory and customer data from different databases at multiple levels in order to identify key trends and make recommendations to maximize sales and profits.
