× Article Content College athlete and former member of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) womenâ��s basketball team Krista Reinking has led academic and athletic programs at the collegiate level for roughly nine years. In addition to having served as Assistant Coach for UIUC and Oregon State University, Ms. Reinking also functioned as an Administrative Associate for the Athletics Department at The University of Texas at Austin.
Krista Reinking attended UIUC and earned her BS in Sport Management. As a student, Ms. Reinking played on the collegeâ��s womenâ��s basketball team and became the Womenâ��s Basketball Tri-Captain in 1998. Krista Reinking aided UIUCâ��s successes as a Big Ten Conference Champion in 1997 and participant from 1995 to 1997. In addition to her athletic pursuits, Ms. Reinking studied diligently and earned several scholarships and awards for her academic achievements, such as the George Huff Award and the Lillian Speck Courtsiders Award.
In 1999, Krista Reinking joined the UIUC Athletic Departmentâ��s coaching team. As an Assistant Coach, Ms. Reinking advised students on issues involving academics and sports and spoke with their families during recruitment about time management, practice schedules, and post-graduation possibilities. Additionally, Krista Reinking organized summer camp activities for children and oversaw staff members and counselors. Ms. Reinking operated as Assistant Coach for UIUC from 1999 to 2001 while earning a Masterâ��s in Educational Administration and Leadership.
From 2001 to 2002, Krista Reinking served as a Coordinator for the Medical Scholars Program (MSP). As Coordinator, Ms. Reinking directed several facets of the admissions process for the UIUC College of Medicine MD and PhD programs. During her time as Coordinator, Krista Reinking supported and helped launch the first organizations to prepare undergraduate students for pre-medical and PhD programs at the University. In addition to dispersing application forms and literature, Krista Reinking also supplied information to prospective applicants and students interested in the Medical Scholars Program at the UIUC College of Medicine.
