Krishantha Jayasundara is currently working as a Staff Officer-Human Resources at Alpha Apparels Ltd (Omega Line Group) and He is is also a Visiting Faculty member of Institute of Personnel Management, Narahenpita and he facilitates the short term courses such as PCGD, FCHRM and CCHRM at IPM. Having completed his education at Dharmaraja College, Kandy, Krishantha was graduate from University of Peradeniya where he generalized the subjects such as English,Psychology and Sociology as his major subjects offered for degree. He has also obtained Professional Qualification in Human Resource Management (merit) from Institute of Personnel Management. Krishantha Jayasundara has also followed National Diploma in Training and Human Resource Development at IPM. He designs and implements training for newly recruited employees at Alpha Apparels Ltd where he currently works at.
As a Staff Officer and being the second in command of HR department, Krishantha Jayasundara is entrusted with the responsibility of supervising and working with a team composed with a HR Coordinator, and two other HR Assistants. Apart from the supervisory role, He has developed and been conducting the company new employee orientation programme by systematizing the procedure. He is also responsible in looking after the day to day HR related matters.
Krishantha Jayasundara is a visiting Faculty Memeber of Institute of Personnel Management and who facilitates Programme in Career Guidance and Development, Foundation Course in HRM and Certificate Course in HRM.
Working in charge of company payroll over 2200 employees was my major duty. Apart from it, I was also responsible for Leave and attendance management, Engaging in recruitment, designing retention activities and Employee welfare activities.
As a full time teacher at this college, I was working as a teacher of English and Citizenship Education for ordinary level classes. During my service period of Unique International College, I have shown remarkable performance through facilitating students reaping better grades at evaluation than ever. I have not restricted myself to teaching at the college. I have taken part in announcing at various annual functions held and organizing and implementing field visits for students.
As an Agency Supervisor my core reaponsibility was to recruit, train and retain sales consultants in driving them towards achieving the sales targets of the brach. I was the internal trainer for IBSL exams which new recruits have to get through for becoming eligible to engage in their jobs. Motivating, guiding, orienting, goal setting and facilitating (in related to sales team) were my key responsibilities.

As Psychology and Sociology are about mental and social process of people, it has enabled me to actively engage with the employees in my organization in understanding their grievances and managing factors which lead to absenteeism and turnover.

Working in a manufacturing industry such as apparel needs healthy relations with employees who are at the operational level. Employee relations are maintained by me at my organization through frequent visit to the production floor and catering their needs such speedy processing of loans, comfortable transportation service, sanitary and canteen operations.
Total engagement of employees at the production floor is an extremely difficult task due to the diversity. I have taken initiatives to engage employees through creating a free mindset in them by maintaining a decent working environment and even uplifting the morale of employees.
Forecasting the man power requirement to accomplish the production targets is a responsibility of mine. Thus I have organized recruitment campaigns to fill the cadre at organization.
It is my responsibility to conduct the induction programme for new recruits on weekly basis. It is a one day programme which create the awareness of the aspects related to their attenf dance, contribution, safety procedures, leave, pay and promotional opportunities.
As a Vising Faculty Member of Institute of Personnel Management who facilitates beginners courses and short term courses I have been one of the best rated lectures in the regional centers. I also conduct presentations for employees as awareness building sessions of various recurrent and up coming events in the organization.
