Under the general supervision of the Vice President, the Dean of Career and Technical Education (CTE) administers and provides leadership for all career and technical instructional departments. The Dean will direct all activities in the assigned instructional departments including long-term and short-term planning, curriculum redesign and development, accreditation, class scheduling, faculty teaching assignments, budget development and management, regional work with the Central Region Consortium, and professional development. The Dean provides coordination and leadership in the use of educational technology and works cooperatively with other District and college administrators, faculty and staff.

  • Facilitated partnerships with secondary partners, Tulare and Kings County Offices of Education, Tulare and Kings County Workforce Investment Boards and Tulare and Kings County Regional Occupation Programs which has received millions of dollars in grant funding, since 2002.
  • Facilitated relationships with business partners, career education instructors and administrators for Tech Prep Consortium success and developed strategic plans for consortium work
  • Collaborated with area career education instructors to develop articulation agreements
  • Communicated with all secondary, postsecondary, and business partners utilizing Tech Prep website
  • Coordinated Giant Tech Prep EXPO event, hosting 400 middle school and 800 high school students, as well as over 100 business partners annually, the largest single event hosted on the COS Visalia campus each year
  • Developed and implemented Tech Prep five year and annual plans, including the budget and reporting expenditures and activities to the Chancellor’s Office
