  • Oversaw analysis, architecture, design and development initiatives for the Strategic Credit Program to deliver the next generation Credit Derivatives trading platform consisting of .NET (C#) Winforms UI, J2EE application servers, Oracle 9i and web services with real time capabilities

Lead Developer, Risk Warehouse (2005-2008)

  • Designed and developed an in house Risk Data Warehouse using Oracle 9i that processed trade and risk data for about 450,000 trades on a nightly basis, loading approximately 2.5 million rows of risk metrics
  • Conducted periodic review and performance tuning of Oracle stored procedures and queries to ensure SLA requirements are met; optimized schema using partitions and linked tables
  • Implemented automated processes for data purging and archiving based on business rules (most recent 5 business days in active schema; month and quarter end data in archive schema)
  • Delivered a regional (London, Tokyo and New York) SQL Server 2000 datamart solution using Data Transformation Services (DTS) to extract and transform data from the Oracle 9i warehouse. The datamarts were available before start of business local time in each region
  • Interviewed traders, risk management and finance users to design and build Excel (Excel VBA) and Microsoft Access applications for querying the SQL Server datamart, in addition to automated nightly reports
  • Rolled out a portfolio risk viewer and curve marking application using .NET (C#) Winforms and Oracle 9i
  • Implemented SQL Server Analysis Services 2000 cubes (MOLAP, ROLAP) leveraging both the Oracle relational data store and the SQL Server datamart
  • Prototyped a risk dashboard using Microsoft technologies - .NET (ASP.NET), Office Web Components (OWC), MDX, SQL Server Analysis Services
  • Authored best practices for database script generation across Dev, QA, UAT and Production environments
