The Link & Option Center

Provided counseling, mentoring, and educational services for at risk teens in south suburban Chicago land area.Supervised 15 to 20 students and managed over 50 mentors. Facilitated workshops on entrepreneurship and marketing trends.Instructed on how to develop marketing plans suitable to targeted demographics. Designed curriculum to teach students the difference between direct and indirect marketing, channels of marketing, and the importance of an efficient market plan.

          Very motivated student athlete. After being told he'd never be good enough to play college sports Mr. Carter dedicated himself to proving all the doubters wrong by working really hard which resulted in many awards such as Most Improved Player. Mr. Carter also took the initiative to market himself to make the University of Illinois football team, the team that ultimately went to the Rose Bowl and was ranked 12th in the nation. Even though sports were really important, Mr. Carter made an extra effort to ensure that he took care of business in the classroom first. After college Mr. Carter pursued a pro football career after being ranked one of the top athletes in the country by Elite Pro Football Combines.

Self Improvement
Although growth is a natural progression of life, the biggest changes and improvements came after college. Everyday is an optimal learning experience where there is a chance to improve at something. This mindset is what seperates Mr. Carter from other candidates.
Very passionate writer.
As an athlete who not was not recrutied out of high school, I had to "sell" myself to generate interest from college coaches. This was most defined by getting interest from the University of Illinois football team, a team that was already filled with great talent at wide receiver. This skill carried over to the National Football League resulting in a great amount of interest from Super Bowl Champions New Orleans Saints.   Also, gained business to business sales experience by reciveing training by an ATT sales rep. During this program, I learned a lot of important information as well as developed the proper skills to be a top sales representative.
Provided leadership skills over the past few years by facilitating group workout session in college for those interested in improving sports performace. Also really honed my leadership skills while supervising 15 troubled teenages from inner city Chicago, teaching them about the ins and outs of running a business and marketing strategies.
