Having nearly two decades of experience in ophthalmology, Dr. K. Michelle Huzella offers compassionate care to patients at several Maryland locations. As the manager, founder, and owner of Bella Vision, LLC, Dr. Huzella has maintained services in Frederick for more than four years. Since 2014, she has supplemented these roles by serving as an ophthalmologist with the Maryland Vision Institute in Hagerstown and Hancock. Through this organization, Dr. K. Michelle Huzella practices LASIK surgery and laser cataract surgery.
Prior to beginning her medical career, Dr. Huzella graduated from the Calasanctius Preparatory School for Gifted Children and from the Guild Auditions with a diploma in social music and piano. As an undergraduate, she earned a bachelor of science in biology cum laude from Duke University. After completing graduate studies in pathology at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo, she enrolled in SUNY's School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and graduated magna cum laude with her doctor of medicine. Subsequently, Dr. K. Michelle Huzella performed her clinical training at the Lancaster Course in Ophthalmology, the New York Ear and Eye Infirmary, and Georgetown Medical Center. Moreover, she was named chief resident in ophthalmology while at the Brookdale Hospital Medical Center.
