·Programmed laser and plasma burn files - Create and update all programs for the plasma and laser cutting stations using SigmaNest

·Created Work Instructions - Create work instructions on how to use the Sigma Nest program

·Trained 2 employees on SigmaNest

·Focused of improving steel utilization - Improve steel utilization at plasma and laser cutting stations – cost savings $211K annually

·Led insourcing initiative – focus on parts manufactured outside the plant and investigate the reasonability of bringing them into the plant, concentrate on fabrication process, forecast, and annual spending to create a cost comparison

·Analyzed machine capacities - Determine laser and plasma station capacity with current volumes

·Determined standards - Calculate standard rates for cutting, forming and welding processes

·Facilitated scrap reduction study – Determine cause of scrap on the R-series suspension line, reduce scrap rate from 20% to 0%

·Developed Quotes - Generate quotes for fabrication of new products, includes cutting steel, forming, welding, assembly and labor cost

·Conducted tests - Conducted a pull-force test on safety labels to determine the appropriate heat rating necessary for applying the label immediately after part exits the paint line

·Reduced downtime at machining center - Work on a cross-functional team to reduce downtime at Steering Knuckle Machining Center, Senior Thesis Project

·Worked on CAD outsourcing with a Chinese supplier – Work with a translator to deliver expectations to the supplier and review prints

·Expanded communication skills working with individuals inside and outside of Hendrickson

·Conducted Fatigue Tests – Utilize test rig, Twin Beam Tester, to verify conversion from dual to single wire welds for suspension beams. Conduct fatigue test on potential outsourced products for military applications.

·Revised Engineering Standards - Update new welding process specifications
