I have been a practicing licensed social worker at the bachelor level for two and a half years. I have passed the Kansas ASWB Master's of Social Work licensing exam and will be licensed pending graduation from Wichita State Univeristy in May of 2012. I am currently a foster care worker and have a passion for the child welfare system. I also have an interest in becoming a school social worker, which was part of my motivation to continue my education and obtain my Masters of Social Work. I have a passion for serving others and strive for social justice.

Job responsibilities include performing admits and assessments on children placed in Police Protective Custody, managing a caseload of approximately 9 foster homes, assessing and licensing foster homes, and communicating with contracting agencies, SRS, and KDHE. I advocate for the foster children palced in Police Protective Custody when necessary as well as advocate for the foster parents on my caseload. I have monthly home visits with foster parents and am responsible for addressing any concerns or regulatory violations in the home.
