Lifeline multispeciality hospital is 90 bedded hospital with occupancy rate of 60 - 80%. It is an unit comprising of neurosurgeon, internal medicine physician, paediatrician, general surgeon, radiologist and anaesthetist available round the clock. 

My Role:

Independently run the out-patient department.

Admit the patients requiring admission and operation.

Perform rounds in ICU and wards. 

Perform surgeries independently with an OT assistant.

          Surgeries performed (few of them) 

        1.  Cecal volvulus with intestinal tuberculosis- Cecal detorsion with cecal fixation with LN                Biopsy

        2. Acute cholecystitis with cholelithiasis with GB polyp - Simple laparoscopic                                        cholecystectomy and following up.

       3. Open cholecystectomy in 85yr/f with DCMP with cholelithiasis, status post ERCP                            stenting (indication for open- intolerance to pneumoperitonium under GA)

Clinically treating the patient and recording the injuries for medicolegal reporting as the laws of Govt of India. 

Issued Medicolegal Reports(MLR) as er the rules and guidelines of Govt Of India.

I had to attend summons to give expert opinion in medicolegal cases in court of law.

Monitoring, guiding and teaching the junior and senior residents, nursing staff and other auxillary staff in smooth working of trauma centre PGIMER.

I m proficient in dealing with gallstone disease. Have profound knowledge on biliary diseases. Have experience of handling the complications of laparoscopic cholecystectomy like biliary injuries.

I m proficient in dealing with the varicose veins. Have profound knowledge and skills with with varicose veins.

I have proper knowledge about the natural history and in details about carcinoma breast and other benign breast diseases, have fairly good skills to operate on carcinoma breast. I have not done any breast reconstruction, interested to acquire the skills and knowledge in breast conservation and reconstruction surgery. I can give chemotherapy and radiotherapy to ca breast patients and have fairly good knowledge about the complications and treatment of chemotherapy adverse reactions.
Good knowledge and skills in GI and biliary surgery in general.

Areas of interest :

I want learn and acquire skills in  laparoscopic biliary surgery( CBD exploration, LAP HJ), laparoscopic bariatrics surgeries and breast reconstruction surgery.

6 months of junior ward residency - complete responsibility of general surgery patients of allotted number of beds usually 20 to 30 beds at given time, rotating amongst male surgical wards, female surgical wards having emergency and elective beds. and private wards, special surgical wards. responsibility of the patient from the OPD presentation, opd basis evaluation, minor OT procedures, elective or emergency admissions, in-patient evaluation and preparation of patient for surgery and operating hernia, varicose veins, PVD amputations, extremity soft tissue tumours, benigh breast diseases and palliative procedure for advanced breast cancer, emergency procedures like intestinal perforations (duodenal, gastric, jejunal ileal, caecal, colonic), intestinal obstructions, unstable blunt trauma abdomen, stab abdomen,  assisting the major operations like liver transplantation, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, major hepatectomies, whipples procedure, hepatopancreaticoduodenectomies, surgery for chronic pancreatitis - lateral pancreaticojejunestomies, surgery for cancer stomach, colon, gallbladder, bile duct pancreas, liver. RESEARCH WORK - THESIS FOR DEGREE OF MASTER OF SURGERY

The outcome of laparoscopic cholecystectomy in obese patients: A prospective observational study.

Aims of the study: To determine the outcome of laparoscopic cholecystectomy in obese patients in terms of 

     1. Operating time

     2. Conversion rates to open cholecystectomy

     3. Post operative complications and hospital stay  

Conclusion:  In the patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy for symptomatic gallstone disease, there was no significant difference in the operating time, conversion rates, post operative complications.
