Kubar-Hollywood

An airy Mediterranean bistro featuring a menu stuffed w/ recipes dating back over 100 years and an interior designed by the Red O guy, with flowing curtains, a monstrous, curved wine wall, and a second floor w/ faux-windows and doors, all of which's supposed to evoke a home from the Ottoman Empire, but not the Otto man empire, as no one wants to live in a cartoon school bus.

Everything from skewers to pita's made in-house, w/ dinner options including lamb chops w/ zaatar salsa verde, herb roasted tomatoes, and bulgher pilav; grape leaves stuffed w/ rice, tomatoes, peppers, and onions cooked in lemon juice; and tilapia served in a spicy vegetable pepper sauce, also what the band was briefly named when the doc told her to lay off the salt, and that Spinderalla sucked.

If you're more lunch-oriented, they've also got wraps w/ beef kebab, kafta, and schwarma, as well as marinated beef burgers, and even Italian options like lasagna and pizza margherita, which apparently found that lost shaker of salt.

In addition, they've got a full-service cocktail bar as well as a monster patio w/ hookah service.

Aside from the comprehensive menu, the Pig 'N Whistle has nighttime entertainment every Wednesday through Saturday. Local and traveling bands perform in the backroom while some of the hottest DJ's spin in the main room. The Pig 'N Whistle is located at 6714 Hollywood Blvd. The restaurant is open 7 days a week: Sunday-Wednesday 11:30 a.m.- 1:30 a.m. and Thursday-Saturday, from 11:30 a.m.-2 a.m.

Asst. General Manager

The Coffee Shop, Union Square

Asst. General Manager (10 MM Sales-Mircos)The Coffee Shop, Union Square New York City - Extensive experience negotiating and purchasing of food, beverages, dry goods, and equipment - Researched, implemented, and upgraded Micros 4700 system to the 8700 Micros system

Union Square’s bustling corner hotspot is still one of the City’s perennial see-and-be-seens (the model waitresses would rather be posing for Italian Vogue). Grab a table on the outside patio to watch busy New Yorkers weave in and out of the local farmers market while you enjoy a milkshake, mojito or burger and fries.

Its heyday is past, but crowds still flock to this converted diner, perhaps because its sidewalk seating still makes for good people-watching and caipirinha sipping. The tropical drinks are refreshing and there's still evidence of a gaudy past: The retro glass-and-metal facade, neon sign and ludicrously superfluous velvet rope reflect the joint's early-'90s glory. The menu boasts Brazilian flavah, but a few dishes prove to be less interesting than described (grilled salmon, for example, comes drenched in mango puree). Sounder alternatives are the paella, rib-eye steak, raw-bar selections and numerous salads. Just imagine how many models have planted their Brazilian-waxed bottoms in your seat.

I am an honorary U of Michigan Alumni. When I first came to Los Angeles back in 2000, I would go to all the local bars to watch the Michigan football games. I would wear all my Michigan gear only to be heckled by the local USC and UCLA fans. I was the GM consult for a place called Gotham Hall in Santa Monica and they had the best projection camera in town and a 20 x 20 screen.  I call the President of the Alumni in Ann Arbor and he put me in touch with the local President of the LA chapter. I invited them in and when they came in I had all the tv's playing a michigan football game and the sound system playing the Michigan fight song, they all said we have a new football home and that is how I became a honorary Michigan Alumni. True Story!!

Acting 2 year Program

The Neighborhood Playhouse

The Neighborhood Playhouse was founded in 1915, at the dawn of the renaissance of the American theatre. Created by two philanthropic sisters, Alice and Irene Lewisohn, the original Playhouse was one of the first "Off-Broadway" theatres, located on the Lower East Side as part of the famous Henry Street Settlement House. Committed to the community and devoted to renewing the roots of drama in ritual, pageant, song and dance, the Playhouse mounted works ranging from the ancient to the modern. The Neighborhood Playhouse Theatre closed in 1927 and The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre was founded in 1928 by the two Lewisohn sisters in association with Rita Wallach Morgenthau. The school grew out of the desire to realize what had not been possible at the Playhouse, its purpose to further the type of training developed at the Theatre for its specialized and experimental productions---productions which reflected the concept of theatre as an organic expression of life interpreted through a fusion of the arts. The informal organization, starting with a modest nine students, soon attracted more students from many parts of the country seeking professional training in the theatre. Even the first small group had the privilege of being taught by such theatre luminaries as Martha Graham, Louis Horst, Laura Elliott, Agnes DeMille and others. In 1935, Sanford Meisner joined the faculty and, over the years, this founding member of The Group Theatre developed and refined what is now known as the "Meisner Technique." Based on some of the original theories and principles of the great Russian teacher-director, Constantine Stanislavsky, and his work with The Moscow Art Theatre, the Meisner Technique is a step-by-step procedure of self-investigation for the actor. Mr. Meisner retired in 1990 and was appointed Director Emeritus of the Acting Department. All of the Acting faculty have studied under Mr. Meisner. He passed away in February of 1997. Rita Wallach Morgenthau was Director of the school from 1928 until her retirement in 1963, when the Board of Directors appointed Paul Morrison as her successor. In 1981, after Mr. Morrison's demise, Harold G. Baldridge was appointed Director of the school. Eighty-one years after its founding, the school continues to offer the actor-in-training a means of investigating and expanding the range of his or her instrument in a full-time conservatory atmosphere that concentrates on the artistic growth of the actor through a fusion of technical training in acting, movement, speech/voice and singing combined with a deeper understanding of the cultural values underlying a life devoted to the highest and most demanding artistic principles. The school develops the person, as well as the actor.
