Immersion Experience at George Mason University

College of Education and Human Development, Instructional Technology Program

The Instructional Design and Development (IDD) Masters Cohort is designed to allow students to "immerse themselves in several project-based experiences that require them to utilize their instructional design, development and management skills through authentic practice." In Immersion, the students are a part of a design team that must analyze an authentic problem and design, develop, implement and evaluate an instructional solution to that problem. The students are the ones that hold the cards in term of project development and implementation, with guidance provided by GMU instructors in an advisory capacity. Additional information can be found on the GMU IDD Immersion Program website.
