To Pacific University,

I am applying for the PsyD program at Pacific University to begin in Fall 2011.  I feel I am qualified to attend this University.  I am currently completing a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.  I have an above average GPA and an above average GRE score.  Currently I work at an organization called Ettie Lee Youth and Family Services.  This is an organization for delinquent boys who have been removed from their homes.  I work as a trainee therapist at one of the group homes.  There I run groups, provide individual therapy for the boys, and provide family therapy so the boys can reunify with an identified parent and return home.  When the program at Pacific University begins, I will have worked at this organization for one year.

I hope to attend this University in order to increase my knowledge and understanding of the practice and research of Clinical Psychology.  I hope to someday work at a VA Medical Center providing therapeutic services for veterans.  I also hope to perform research related to veterans.  I believe the track program at Pacific University provides me with a unique opportunity to prepare for my desired career.
