This year I became even more involved with Relay for Life by offering my assistance as the co-chair of the publicity committee. My job is to create PSAs that will be broadcast the week before the event and other public relations and promotional activities and materials such as posters to be hung in the student center and academic buildings, tying ribbons (using the color purple) around the trees on campus with to signify and promote cancer awareness and spreading the word about the event to students and faculty on campus.

Vision Communications

Along with fellow public relations majors on campus, I work with teams on real business accounts who hire us to help promote their company, events, and products. This past year I have been a part of various projects such as a fashion show to promote Ada's ReStore Center, a secondhand store that also helps those who are in need of financial assistance, and Solo Cup's "Go Bare on Campus" campaign. Recently, I assisted with the planning and implementation of our PaRtners conference in April. Currently, I am working on a project for ONU's Theatre and Performing Arts Department.

PR Team Member

Solo Cup’s “Go Bare on Campus” Campaign

The campaign was put on by PRSSA and Solo Cup, where teams were asked to create a campaign that promoted recycling, composting and the use of Solo Cup's new "Go Bare" products. We were also asked to drive students to the Facebook application to take the "Go Bare" pledge. My role was to write articles for our school newspaper, The Northern Review, graph data from surveys and promote and implement our "Give Thanks, Give Back" Thanksgiving dinner. Our team won first place overall in the competition.
