Kevin provides leadership in application development methodology and management consulting. Kevin is a published author and speaker on the best practices of application development, including speaking at conferences such as the Rational Developers User Conference. Kevin brings over 21 years of industry experience to Caro. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Ryerson Polytechnic University, Toronto, Canada and completed the IVEY Executive Program at the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, Canada. Castek Software Factory Inc.

  • Relationship manager for Castek’s largest strategic partner, Texas Instruments Software. This relationship was responsible for three million dollars of direct revenue in fiscal 1996 and continued to grow with the increasing thrust of component-based development in the applications development marketplace. Activities involved working with TIS Advanced Technology Centre in the United Kingdom on the joint development of standards, fundamentals, methodology, development environment architecture extensions and training materials to support the rollout of Component-Based Development to the TIS worldwide customer base. 
  • Also held the position of Manager, Software Factory Practices. Defined, designed and documented Castek best practices in Component-based Development, integrated best practices within internal and external training program and developed a line of business to begin the transfer of software factory practices into other development organizations.

  • Participated on the Ernst & Young International architecture team developing a worldwide technology infrastructure to support international business needs across the global footprint of a professional services organization. 
  • Aided the data architecture organization, for a large retail client, in the development of an integrated data architecture supporting all back office retail functions. 
  • Led the development of an integrated Financial Services business model that was the basis for developing an integrated Clients First! suite of applications.
  • Assisted a number of organizations across a wide spectrum of vertical industries, including financial services, telecommunications, government, retail, gaming and utilities, in the transformation of their information systems organization to new organizational frameworks and best practices in systems engineering.
  • Instructor with over 1200 hours of classroom time leading sessions on Navigator Systems Series curriculum.

  • Led the development of an information system planning architecture for the corporate sales and marketing functions within Imperial Oil.
  • Participated in the initial introduction of the Information Engineering Facility to the application development community.
  • Completed the initial IEF pilot project successfully implementing the pilot solution within a CICS/DB2 environment. Delivered the pilot project findings and recommendations report to Senior management.
  • Served as project leader for the development of an integrated customer information management application. The system was the first successfully developed and implemented into the production environment using the IEF.
  • Assisted in the corporate development of standards and guidelines based on Systems Application Architecture (SAA) and Common User Access (CUA) guidelines. This development work then was transitioned to a distributed product by Texas Instruments Software.
