Due to his outstanding work to support his community, Kevin Keogh has garnered a number of recognitions. Kevin Keogh was twice recognized as one of the Outstanding Young Men of America. He is an honoree of Project Children International. In 2005, Mr. Keogh was selected to be the Irish American Society of the Oranges Man of the Year. He served as the Grand Marshal of the West Orange, New Jersey, Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in 2001. Additionally, Mr. Keogh is a member of MENSA, the international society for people with high IQs.Kevin Keogh became involved with his community in 1993 when he began working as a Law Clerk for the Superior Court of New Jersey. Three years later, he became a Constituent Affairs Officer for the United States House of Representatives 8th Congressional District. Over the next two years, Mr. Keogh worked within the district on a variety of constituent affairs. In 1998, he was elected to the West Orange City Council, a position he held until 2005. During this period, he was once elected as Council President and oversaw a budget of $40 million. Additionally, Kevin Keogh spent over 11 years as the Plant Superintendent for a large regional wastewater treatment facility. Each year of his involvement with the plant, he trained almost 700 employees. He also instituted a number of courses to reduce the likelihood of employee injury. Kevin Keogh also spent two years serving as a member of the Joint Sewer Meeting of Essex and Union Counties, serving as Vice Chairperson and Treasurer. Kevin Keogh has played a number of other important roles in his community. He is a former member of the New Jersey Board of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, a past Commissioner of the West Orange Human Relations Commission, a Trustee of the West Orange Senior Housing Board, and a past member of the West Orange Planning Board.

Township of West Orange, Government

Top vote getting legislative representative for a township of 45,000 people. Served as township council president in 2001 on the five member board. Legislative branch of local municipal government.

Oversaw a 40 million dollar local government and a workforce of about 250 employees. Drafted local ordinances and interacted with other branches of government.

Designed new Thomas Edison based street signs for the township with the slogan West Orange "where the future began". Implemented one of the first reverse 911 notification systems in the state of NJ for town wide emergency notifications. Had 5 years in a row with a zero percent increase in municipal taxes in our budgets.

Served as chairman to the local ABC board ( alcohol beverage control) responsible for liquor licenses. Also served as treasurer and budget chairman to the joint sewer meeting of Essex and Union counties which serviced 15 towns in northern NJ.
