My name is Kevin Green and I am a current student at Longwood University. My expected date of graduation is May of 2013 and I intend to meet that deadline. My major is Communication Studies with a focus in Mass Media and I am also minoring in Psychology. With my degree, I intend to pursue a career in broadcasting. I am extremely passionate when it comes to sports and music.

The two areas of broadcasting I am most passionate about is radio and print. My goal one day is to either work as a play-by-play broadcaster for a college football team or as a program director for a radio station.

Sports Play-by-Play/Color
I just recently had my first two experiences with play-by-play covering both a men's and a women's basketball game. I have more experience covering games a color commentator, but will be doing more games a play-by-play broadcaster. My expanded use of this skill will include baseball games as well.
Print news
I have been printed numerous times in Longwood University newspaper, "The Rotunda." I have had extensive experience with using associated press style in articles that been op/eds, news, and reviews. This is probably my second best skill behind radio.
Audio editing
Whether it has been for WMLU or an audio news package for class, I have a good amount of experience with audio editing. I have used both Audacity and Garage band for show intros, basketball broadcasts, and news packages. It is an area that I am very comfortable with.
Video Editing
I have just recently begun editing news packages for my major. I was required to use Final Cut Pro to edit and put together video news packages. Over the past five months I have created 4 news packages. My skills in this area are still growing, but it is an area I will explore more in the future.
For the last two plus years, I have been a broadcaster for WMLU 91.3 FM in Farmville, Va. It is a student-run radio station for Longwood University. I have covered numerous Men's and Women's basketball games as well as Baseball games for the sports committee.   I feel right at home behind the board in a radio station. I am confident in my on-air ettiquite when it comes shows that range from music to sports talk shows.

This was part-time job I worked whenever I was on break from college. It was a good job that offered steady pay and good hours during the Holiday Season.
