Independent Educational Consultant

    • Provided non-profit organizations with proposal-writing services on a freelance basis.
    • Assisted organizational leaders developing new programming for K-12 stakeholders with technical assistance and support.

CEO / Head-of-School 

Avon Grove Charter School - West Grove, Pennsylvania
    • Oversaw the establishment and growth  of a high-performing charter school located in southern Chester County, Pennsylvania. 
    • Coordinated curricula school-wide for an educational community of over 1700 students. 
    • Organized and oversaw three major construction projects by worked collaboratively with township authorities,  zoning boards, and general contractors. 
    • Wrote numerous grant proposals and generated hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding for school programming and activities. 
    • Managed a 20 million dollar budget and constructed monthly fiscal reports for the Board of Directors.
    • Supervised team of key administrative staff which included:  principals, program coordinators, counselors, program directors, and curricular specialists. 
    • Worked with community partners, including the Chester County YMCA, the Natural Lands Trust, and the White Clay Creek Watershed Association to enrich programming within the school and to promote student involvement in the larger community. 
    • Designed, funded and implemented one of the most ambitious and widely-respected environmental education programs in the state of Pennsylvania. 
    • Developed a harmonious and mutually-supportive relationships with the public district officials responsible for authorizing the charter school.

LLP Charter School, Mosaica Education, Inc. - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
    • Acted as a Program Facilitator, Curricular Coordinator and Educational Technology Coordinator at a Mosaica-run school in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
    • Coordinated K-12 and developed lessons in conjunction with Mosaica's national "Design Team". 
    • Coordinated, supervised and located funding for day and afterschool programming.
    • Established an afterschool program featuring dance, instrumental music, and sports programming for at-risk youth.  
    • Developed partnerships with neighboring traditional public schools and community-based organizations.
    • Monitored students behavior, constructed behavior management plans for school-wide implementation. 
    • Identified and contracted with inspirational  speakers for bi-weekly rallies held at the school. 
    • Constructed class schedules and the school's first interactive report-card template.

Educational Technology Coordinator

The Mayor's Commission on Literacy, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 
    • Coordinated technology-based community education programs throughout the greater Philadelphia region. 
    •  Hosted, organized, scheduled, and selected content for an annual, statewide literacy conference.
    • Participated in a research project sponsored by the National Institute for Literacy (NIFL) tasked with designing standards for adult, family, and workplace literacy. 
    • Secured 3 million dollars in funding for a consortium of community-based organizations by securing a federal Empowerment Zone Grant.

    • Taught a number of undergraduate courses at local colleges and universities including:   Freshman Composition,  Research and Exposition,  20th Century British Literature, 20th Century American Literature,  19th Century British Literature, as well as courses on the use of instructional technology.
