Senior Product Manager : Partnerships and Rewards (Consumer Card, Issuing and Payments)

Nedbank

Nedbank offers two programmes namely the Nedbank Greenbacks programme and the American Express Membership Rewards programme. Both programmes are a card based rewards programme. My role is to develop and execute on strategic objectives:

  • Acquisition of new customers onto the base: Ran two campaigns in the last 6 months that generated the highest customer take up - resulting in the highest ROI and exceeding Nedbanks target of 1 million members on the Greenbacks rewards programme
  • Increased and encouraged redemptions resulting in greater client engagement. Exceeded redemption targets by effective campaign management tool created
  • Lifecycle management. Enhancement of on boarding process to ensure customers are communicated to at the right points
  • Facilitated and leveraged strategic partner relationships. Negotiations held with relevant partnerships to reduce costing and enhance customer experience
  • Collaborate with Consumer card, Transactional Products and Corporate Issuing to drive rewarding of customer behaviour. Various projects managed to drive Nedbanks 2020 targets.
  • Developing and overseeing of yearly budgets to drive performance and ensure targets are met.

Senior Product Manager : Transactional Products (Consumer Card, Issuing and Payments)

Senior Product manager responsible for design, development and profitability management for approximately 7 million Nedbank account holders. High level functions and outcomes were :

  • Product / Segment CVP Design:
    • Collaboration with Segment to formulate solutions to varying needs for (confidential) proposed portfolio enhancement
  • “Back-book” migration proposal:
    • Project Owner for core, legacy and current, product system migration
    • Go-Banking account migration proposal
      • Data gathered and an in-depth analysis was performed to establish relevant customer needs and behaviour. This was then matched to a corresponding product functionality on the “front-book” and customer migrated successfully with minimal impact to service.
  • Cross sell opportunities of Transactional balances to Investments
    • Led a data driven initiative gathered on transactional balances over R100k to cross sell into more profitable investment based products
  • Nedbank PAYU Cheque card enablement successfully launched on the 13th of November 2016
    • Ensured Branch Network manuals, Change management and Pricing updated accordingly
  • Nedbank Cup 2017 – Retail positioning
    • Developed sales collateral and provided to marketing, NCC and frontline staff to establish the needs of customers and ensure product right-sell
  • Individually created a singular Dashboard to provide a tracking mechanism for Transactional products, against sales target, to better manage the business
  • Lobbied successful for alignment with Digital to provide online account opening processes for middle market and Senior customers
  • Currently close to new product launch for Entry level banking seniors
  • Oversaw Product development of new retail offering to enhance competitiveness
