Santa Barbara real estate executive Kenneth Slaught is the founder and president of Investec Real Estate Companies, the largest real estate management company in Santa Barbara. He received his bachelor’s degree in business and economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he played on the school’s varsity basketball team. After graduating from UCSB, he went on to earn his California Real Estate Broker’s license and gain his first exposure to real estate in the Santa Barbara market.
In 1983, Kenneth Slaught founded Investec Real Estate Companies and began investing in real estate across coastal California. He quickly built Investec into one of the premier real estate companies in Southern California, overseeing the purchase and sale of more than $1 billion of single-family homes and retail/commercial properties. Since the early days of Investec, Mr. Slaught and his principal partners have invested in properties throughout Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, Los Angeles, and San Diego counties.
In addition to his successful real estate career, Kenneth Slaught has established himself as a dedicated philanthropist. He has spent nearly three decades as a board member for Storyteller Children’s Center, a Santa Barbara nonprofit organization providing early childhood education and family support services for homeless and at-risk children. Additionally, he has served for over 20 years on the board of the Dream Foundation, helping the organization fulfill end-of-life wishes for adults with terminal illnesses.
In his free time, Kenneth Slaught enjoys competing in marathons and triathlons, reading the works of Robert Ludlum and Tom Clancy, and traveling with his wife.
