Ken Foraker has earned a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies from UCSB and a Masters degree in Adult Education from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Combined with a lifetime of outdoor recreation instruction and instructing, he posessess the ability to create, direct, manage, instruct, or mentor any program or collaboration in a myriad of fields.
As a retired Professional Cyclist, Ken has learned intensive and healthy training techniques only a few elite cyclists and athletes in the world understand. This involves physical, dietary, mental, and spiritual aspects of holistic training.
In 1990 Ken began a long and rewarding personal journey of discovery by studying at the School of Intuitive Massage in Santa Barbara, and over the years honed the skills needed for the intensive and remarkable healing he has been fortunate to be the conduit for lately.
Kens dream is to work alongside a few select personal friends running and implementing a Mobile Cycle Rehabilitative Specialist Operation. This will include a Mercedes Sprinter van which will tour most of the year providing demos and all types of bicycle and cycle repair.
Run store on days the Owner and Manager are out. This consists of helping customers in person and on the phone, ordering sod, coordinating deliveries, invoicing, and taking payments on accounts. Bi-lingual in Spanish, building vocabulary daily. Some delivery driving as needed especially for special accounts and difficult deliveries.
Set-up Bicycles, Hand cycles, Trikes and all adative equipment for each specific riders' impairment ensuring maximum comfort, safety, and enjoyment for the participants. Tune up any bikes needing mechanical assistance or attention. Repaired flats and performed minor adjustments while riding along with the Soldier Riders on my personal bike.
Collaborate with willing partners in ways that provide opportunities for improving overall health and joy of our communities with a focus on personal health and balance.
Deliver Bicycle Rodeo program to remote villages in Alaska in conjunction with the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium. Promote bicycle helmet safety at yearly safety camp, and tune up bicycles, perform safety check on all kids bikes at the camp.
