- Chicago US-IL
I attended Robert Morris University to pursue my dream of playing collegiate softball while earning my college degree. I never expected that four years later I would not only graduate playing four years of collegiate softball but that I would also graduate with my MBA.
My road to success was not easy. I struggled through my second year of college due to my softball injury, which occurred during our spring break trip in March of 2009. I was unable to attend school for two weeks and the physical therapy process took approximately eight months. However, I was able to succeed in graduating with my bachelor’s degree in three years as a result of a lot of hard work and dedication. After receiving an undergraduate degree I wanted to go above and beyond my comfort zone and push myself in the classroom. It was then that I made the decision to apply to Robert Morris’s accelerated MBA program.
Playing a sport in college truly teaches a person a diverse set of life skills. It requires dedication, organization, and excellent interpersonal communication skills. I have experience in dealing with a variety of people as well as different types of athletes. I have been an athlete of many sports throughout my life and I understand the pressure collegiate athletes are under in order to achieve excellence in the field as well as in the classroom. Although I may not have a lot of practice in the business world, I have a lot of life experience.
I am confident that I can bring what I learned in both undergrad and graduate school into my career. Being a part of a fast paced university as well as being a part of the softball team has given me the leadership and work ethic required to be a valuable member of any team.
Excellent communicator with the ability to project and elicit interest and enthusiasm. Truly enjoys new challenges, works well under pressure and thrives under discipline in an environment in which achievement is expected.
