About Me

In fall 2011, Head Coach Kelly Greenberg begins her eighth season at the helm of the Boston University (BU) Women’s Basketball program. With a remarkable career producing measurable results for various programs, Greenberg hopes to make a run at the NCAA tournament with the Terriers. Appointed to the position in 2004, Kelly Greenberg has since brought the team to the America East Tournament finals 5 times and raised its win percentage to an all-time high of .602.In her first year leading the team for the 2004-05 season, Kelly Greenberg brought the Terriers to a 15-16 record and an appearance in the America East Tournament finals. While college basketball insiders have been aware of Greenberg’s knack for getting the most out of her teams, the rest of the nation was let in on the secret when BU upset top-seeded University of Maine, 4th-seeded University of Vermont, and 9th-seeded Stony Brook University to become the first 8th-seeded team to reach the finals in the tournament’s 14-year history. Other highlights during Kelly Greenberg’s tenure as Head Coach include a 2007-08 record of 20-12, the first time in 20 years the team had broken 20 wins, and a perfect 11-0 record in the university’s Case Gymnasium. The team also performed admirably in the 2008-09 season, improving its record to 25-8 as the America East regular season champs. With Kelly Greenberg’s leadership, the team has reached the America East Tournament finals five times.Since her collegiate career as an Explorer for La Salle University in the late 1980s, Greenberg has maintained an active career as a coach for college women’s basketball. Prior to her role at BU, Greenberg worked as an Assistant Coach under Bill Gibbons at the College of the Holy Cross, where the Crusaders recorded over 20 wins for all but 1 of her 7 seasons there, and as the Head Coach for the University of Pennsylvania, taking the team to the NCAA tournament twice. Over the course of her career, Kelly Greenberg has taken her various teams to a total of eight conference titles and seven NCAA tournaments.
