Digital Communications Consultant

World Relief

Currently consulting World Relief, a global non-profit relief and development organization, to implement a new digital communications strategy and editorial schedule. The strategy centers on the development of valuable, consistent content that helps World Relief's constituents better understand and engage the issues the organization addresses, and increase trust in the expertise of World Relief as they seek to serve vulnerable communities around the world.

2011 - Present

Communications Consultant + Media Producer


Served as the Interim Communications Director at Willow Chicago, Willow Creek Community Church's downtown campus. Led the staff's Lead Team through a series of meetings designed to identify shared language for staff and key volunteers to use when telling the stories of Willow Chicago. Also worked with Willow Chicago's Creative Director to develop and produce an awareness campaign for the church, which included the production of twelve videos shared across multiple channels, featuring stories of those in the Willow Chicago community. 

Partnered with Imago Media to provide communications and marketing consultation, as well as to produce print and video marketing materials for organizations such as Awana, Youth Specialties and Food for Greater Elgin. Led a story exploration process with Awana's leadership team to craft a central messaging document now used by the Awana staff to increase their level of partnership with local churches.

Also partnered with Imago to produce two curriclum products, serving as head script writer and curriculum writer for Believe (Zondervan), and script writer and audio designer for Echo the Story (Sparkhouse).

Concurrent with these efforts, independently developed and launched two weekly podcasts used to develop fan bases and drive sales for an author and a filmmaker, with a combined weekly audience of over 800 people.

2005 - 2011

Co-Owner / Principal 

Imago Creative

Co-founded a full-service creative firm meeting the communications, marketing, video production, graphic design and web development needs of dozens of non-profit organizations and religious publishing houses.

Acted as Imago's primary account manager, leading the budgeting and proposal process for prospective clients, as well as serving as the main point of contact for clients.

Oversaw the management and development of seasonal interns, independent contractors and event volunteers.

Creatively developed and/or directed over 50 short films, documentaries, commercial spots, 2D animation and educational segments. Clients included Zondervan (Harper Collins), Oasis Audio, Tyndale House, Group Publishing and Willow Creek Association.

1999 - 2004

Creative Communications Director

Willow Creek Community Church, Student Impact

Served as assistant producer for the live production of Student Impact's weekly event, a gathering of 800-1000 high school students. Led the student acting and video volunteer teams to develop and produce multiple visual media segments each week, including short films, motion graphics, and promotional spots for events.

1997 - 1998

Writer / Director

Sharper Video Productions

Assisted the owner of the company in the development of music education and training videos for children and students. Projects included writing and directing In-Tone-Actions, a 3-part series that included live action, 2D, and 3D animation. Also directed Where Can Band Take You, a 90-minute documentary detailing the 1997 Bands of America European Tour.
