Full Time Nursing Student
Weatherford College
During my journey through nursing school I completed many hours of clinical rotation:
4 semesters of med-surg at Kindred, JPS, Lifecare, and Harris Southwest where I performed assessments, provided patient teaching, obtained vital signs, blood sugars, and gave medication to patients while shadowing a nurse
One semester of labor and delivery at JPS where I performed assessments, helped with patient teaching, and actively listened and learned during real life situations of child birth.
One summer semester of psychiatric nursing, I did my rotation at Witchita State hospital.
One Semester of pediatric nursing at Cooks Childrens hospital where i performed assessments, obtained vital signs and helped provide teaching to the children and their parents.
The part that i felt was most beneficial was in my final semester of nursing school on top of the 60 hours of med-surg clinical's and 20 hours of simulation clinical's, I completed 96 hours of a preceptorship at Weatherford hospital in the ICU. Learning to prioritize, complete the tasks assigned to me in a timely manner, and to remain calm during stressful situations.
