Managing multi million pound revenue generating change compliance Programme to refresh/migrate the enterprise architecture and applications for the IMR (Insurers' Market Document Repository) in the London Insurance Market. Circa 35M files.

·Leading programme and project/solution planning, relationship and supplier/customer management, scope and financial control whilst adhering to the governance controls and rules.

ØInherited a Programme with circa £1M overspend due to scope creep and key staff turnover & within 6 months turned the Programme around to be in credit.

ØInfluenced a request for change to deliver a new capability that will save the organisation £84k per annum in support costs.

ØDefined and shaped the projects dossier, blueprint and business case.

ØActed as the day-to-day hands on agent on behalf of the Sponsor to ensure the successful planning, control and delivery of the 2013 project capabilities.

ØSuccessfully implemented/delivered key projects: Pega PRPC software upgrade, the upgrade and migration of Oracle databases, an IBM storage area network (SAN) replacement, and integration a new strategic application server platform.

Served as interim IT Transformation Manager reporting to EMEA IT Operations Director, Vendor Manager and Senior VP CIO.

Conceptualised, managed & executed the IT Transformational Programme:

  • Rationalised & kicked off the outsourcing of the MS Exchange 2003 mail infrastructure to a fully Managed external MS Exchange 2010 Service provider with an appraised vendor and private cloud design.
  • Actively built the vendor relationship & business justification to migrate the customer to a unified converged Mobility solution from its fragmented communication state with regional providers to a single sourcing partnership.
  • Managed the Conceptualisation, Analysis & technical Design Phases for the Smartphone, BYOD & MDM integration project for EMEA.

Engaged with the CIO to align the Transformation Programme with the IT EMEA strategy and stakeholder´s business expectations.

  • Created business synergies & intermediated the relationships between the customer, negotiator & supplier resulting in the delivery of a negotiated IT Outsourcing taxonomy contract (MSA; Schedules; Appendices).
  • Performed due diligence & authored a new EMEA Mobility/Comms Roadmap strategy with Vodafone releasing potential savings.
  • Proposed a new BPO concept to the CIO: thus leading to an accepted & initiated fully outsourced Telecom Expense Management Solution through Vodafone.
  • Participated in the negotiation to swap contract from KPN in Netherlands to Vodafone through an aggressive rate card comparison resulting in a total cost saving of 11k€ over 2 years for wireless tariffs.
  • Researched, designed, and delivered a Proof of Concept solution to migrate the enterprise BlackBerry system to a new Samsung Smartphone mobile device solution: introducing BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). 
  • Realised a 7k€ saving off the hosted setup cost for the Mobile Device Management SaaS system (Mobile Iron).
  • Reduced the Samsung Smartphone unit cost through company reciprocity.
  • Prepared a business case/CBA promoting the Mobility solutions´ benefits.

Accountable for Portfolio Planning, IT Software Programme delivery & Governance: Supply / Demand facilitation & budget balancing.

Responsible for the definition & improvement of the Programme Management Office: methodology (SDLC & adapted PMI) & PPM tools, quality assurance, governance, reporting & consultation on Business & IT Transformational Programmes.

  • Achieved Level 2 of the Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMi) for IT Solutions Development by Co-Managing the “Future Proofing Programme”. 
  • Consulted on CMMi practices: Project Planning, Project Monitoring & Control.
  • Championed the roll out of the company wide Project Management framework & Planview application throughout the firm (circa 400 employee users).  Influenced 90% programme/release framework compliance rate within 4 months through stakeholder management & project leadership.

  • Leveraged LEAN business transformation concepts to support the COO Finance director create a Business Unit Asset Transfer model ensuring alignment with the overall annual budget.  
  • Acted as a conduit between the Steering Committee review boards, Project Sponsors & Group level units. 
  • Engaged & coordinated with internal customers / Business Units & external parties to deliver programmes OTOBOS (On Time, On Budget & On Scope) whilst ensuring they met quality assurance targets.

  • Promoted internally to ICT Infrastructure Resource Manager within the Corporate Solution Delivery department.
  • Directed the Italian MPLS LAN/WAN Network/Telecom VoIP consolidation project reducing total cost of ownership (TCO) across the region.
