Assigned primary responsibility for the development and coordination of all matters pertaining to contingency and operational plans for Public Health Emergency Management.Assigned as Homeland Security Coordinator and Emergency Preparedness Planner.Analyzes directives and guidance for emergency, operational, and mobilization planning.Assists in formulating, developing, coordinating, and publishing current and long range plans.Coordinates the operation of multiple planning cells.Provides information by suitable means and media including, but not limited to, briefings, presentations, formal, and informal reports. Responsible for developing, staffing, and implementing Public Health Emergency Preparedness for the total Army Medical Department and its interaction with other military services, federal, state, and local agencies, in a joint / combined forces environment.Supplies Medical Force Health Protection (CBRNE) subject matter expertise for the MEDCOM. Provides a CBRNE/WMD annex or input to all Medical Force Health Protection plans or documents. Conducts liaison with supporting Military Intelligence Groups, military, local, state and federal law enforcement agencies (to include four FBI regions) to facilitate the collection, analysis and further dissemination of terrorist related WMD/CBRNE intelligence. Establishes a working relationship with the local intelligence community to access information regarding possible terrorist or criminal threats. Collects, evaluates, analyzes, integrates, and interprets all available information that would be perceived as a possible WMD/CBRNE threat to DOD personnel and property to include monitoring criminal activity.
