Keith Padien, a California-based real estate finance professional, has a distinguished record in the academic and professional field.Keith Padien is a former Director in West Coast Loan Originations at Cantor Commercial Real Estate and primarily focused on originating and closing loans for the purpose of commercial mortgage-backed securities.Keith Padien began his education at the University of Rhode Island campus in Kingston, Rhode Island. There, he entered the school’s Bachelor of Arts in Political Science program, declaring Minors in Business Administration and Economics. In 1997, he studied for a period at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa in Honolulu as part of the National Student Exchange program. In 1998, Keith Padien participated in The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars’ NAFTA internship program. He graduated the same year with highest distinction.In 2001, Keith Padien continued his education in Los Angeles, California, at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law. In 2002, he extended his studies with simultaneous pursuit of a Master of Business Administration from the university’s Marshall School of Business. Keith Padien’s law studies focused extensively on corporate, real estate, tax, and bankruptcy law while his busienss studies focused on corporate and real estate finance. During this time, he began working for George Smith Partners, Inc., a real estate investment banking company.In 2005, Keith Padien completed his Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration and subsequently passed the California State Bar Exam. Shortly thereafter, Keith Padien left George Smith Partners to begin work for Credit Suisse Group AG. During his three years with Credit Suisse, Keith Padien originated nearly $1 billion in loans across a variety of commercial real estate asset classes. His clients included some of the largest financial firms in the business, including real estate private equity firms, publicly-traded REITs, and private real estate investors. Keith Padien joined Cantor Fitgerald in 2009 for the purpose of creating Cantor Commercial Real Estate, a CMBS origination and securitization platform. Keith Padien was an initial member of the startup company and a contributor to its early capital-raising efforts and financial strategies.
