  • Responsible for handling loan transactions after initial credit approval to final funding of the loan
  • High volume customer service and mortgage processing position in an inbound and outbound call center
  • Average personal pipeline of 40+ loans per month with both stated income and full documentation requirements, of which 30+ loans per month close
  • Responsible for ordering: title, appraisal, flood and tax certificates, updated homeowners insurance and flood insurance, any necessary credit supplements, verifications of employment, appraisal addendums (when needed) and any other documents needed for underwriting review and loan funding
  • Obtain internal payoff statements and subordination agreements from Wells Fargo Bank, Wells Fargo Home Equity and Wells Fargo Financial
  • Work with title companies on opening escrow, obtaining title information, non-Wells Fargo payoff statements and  subordination agreements scheduling closing dates and approval of the final HUD-1 Settlement Statement
  • Work with underwriters to make sure all necessary documentation has been obtained and reviewed to ensure borrowers have qualified within the specific lending guidelines
  • Regular contact with borrowers to obtain necessary documentation for the process of their refinance and to update borrowers of status and estimated closing date
  • Work with borrowers to overcome processing issues or objections with rate or terms of the initial approval
  • Notify borrowers when loan has been through the final underwriting review to advise on final approval, go over final figures and schedule the closing with the customer
  • Notify title company of borrowers' requested closing date and coordinate final details
  • Prepare final loan documents and order funding

  • Worked as part of First American Title's Wells Fargo Specialty Unit from Jun 2002 to Jan 2003 which was a team dedicated specifically to accommodate Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and their clients
  • Learned Wells Fargo loan documents, procedures and policies to ensure the smoothest and most professional process for their clients while closing up to 1000 refinance transactions per month
  • Schedule closings with parties involved in transaction; explain closing documents to parties involved; answer questions as to derivation of figures on the closing statement
  • Calculate taxes and hazard/flood insurance for impound accounts, loan interest, and other items
  • Prepare escrow settlement documents showing detailed breakdown of charges; complete computer input regarding specific requirements of the transaction
  • Review title commitment to determine any exceptions, which must be cleared prior to closing and determine documentation necessary to waive exceptions
  • Supervise, train and assign work to Escrow Assistants and Techs involved in each settlement transaction
  • Knowledge of the purpose/use of title insurance and of related services and of the purpose/terminology of legal instruments involved in escrow transactions and in the insuring of title to real property
  • Knowledge of legal documents, local and out-of-state escrow procedures and terminology; knowledge of legal description and basic sales/service techniques; and of the principles of mortgage lending
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations; interview escrow principals; review preliminary title reports, ascertain needed information from title plant, plan/conduct escrow closing program, and to meet/deal with escrow principals
