I am a Strategic Communications student graduating May 2013 from Oklahoma State University and looking for a job in Advertising or Public Relations. I am interested in global communications, social responsibility and the nonprofit sector. This year I was on the AAF NSAC Team as a promotional strategist and copywriter. Our team developed a full service campaign for Glidden paint and placed third in district competition. I love working with different types of personalities and learned the importance of collaborating with the Media and Creative teams. Last summer, I interned with a public relations agency, Lippe Taylor, in New York City. I worked in the beauty department and was responsible for researching and building media lists, compiling weekly competitor reports and communicating with editors and bloggers to distribute products. I also learned the importance of clear, timely communication during this experience and how to voice my opinion to my superiors. I have also been a member of OSU's AAF affiliated Ad Club. I served as the Community Service Chair from 2011-2013. I organized events for the club to be more involved with the Stillwater community outside of the university. I have served as the Vice President of Administration for my sorority of more than 200 women and was responsible for daily communication between officers and the rest of the chapter. During my last semester of school, I completed my senior thesis for the Honors College. I studied international students who participate in service work at OSU and how their motivations and experiences affect our campus potential as a whole. I am a member of the Alpha Delta Sigma Honor Society and have consistently worked hard in my classes to maintain a place on the Dean's Honor Roll all four years. All of my experiences at OSU and my summer internship have shown me that the communications field is where I'm meant to be. I am very self motivated and want to constantly learn and grow while contributing to company goals.

Service Learning Volunteer Center
As a member of the Honors College, I was required to complete an honors thesis. I have always loved meeting international students and participating in community service. I chose to study international students who were involved with the Service Learning Volunteer Center at Oklahoma State. I interviewed six students and asked them a series of questions about their experiences at home and their motivations for coming to the United States and Oklahoma specifically. I talked to them about their passion for service and gained great insight for the school. I learned service work can be an integral part to forming a complete person, instead of only focusing on academics.

National Student Advertising Competition
At the beginning of my senior year, I was selected to be on the NSAC team from an interview process. As a promotions team member, I attended department and big group meetings multiple times a week during the spring semester. I was a part of the campaign from the brainstorming process to conducting research to editing our final plans book. On the promotions team, I helped create promotional events designed to effectively reach our target market and increase brand awareness. This experience gave me a great look into the field and what is expected from me at a professional job.
Jun 2012 - Jul 2012
As an intern, I tried to gain as much experience as possible by always being available and eager to help. This internship gave me an incredible glimpse into the PR world. I worked on the teams of multiple global beauty brands and was able to understand the daily monitoring that takes place when representing a brand. I was able to attend blogger events and special workshops to learn about different social media platforms in addition to my daily tasks. Along with weekly competitor reports, I also researched the industry as a whole for trends and interesting stories. I learned the importance of research during this internship and really grasped the client-agency relationship.
Jan 2012 - May 2012
Throughout the spring semester of my junior year, I helped out with the local Red Cross chapter a couple of times a week to plan a dueling piano show fundraiser at the end of the semester. I was responsible for helping plan the event and finding local businesses to donate auction items. I loved getting to work for a nonprofit and seeing the importance off community relations and involvement. I made sure the event ran smoothly and gained a lot of experience with event planning.
