Within the Corporate and Foundation Relations department, identified, cultivated, solicited and stewarded major donors and prospects through visits and other forms of direct personal contact. Established effective working relationships with University staff and faculty in connecting programs and schools with appropriate funders.


Business Development Manager

New Mexico Economic Development Partnership

Served as first-line of communication for businesses considering locating to the state, and as a liaison between clients and economic developers statewide. Prepared state financial incentive analyses for businesses. Attended trade shows and sales missions to recruit business prospects. Followed up consistently with clients, professional site selectors, commercial Realtors, local economic developers and Economic Development Department employees to build and maintain critical relationships. Served as bookkeeper and office manager for the organization.

Coldwell Banker Legacy Realtors

As an independent contractor, controlled all aspects of small business operation, including marketing, sales, purchasing, office management, correspondence, goal and performance tracking, budgeting and analysis. Primary focus of business was to provide service to clients in the purchase and sale of residential real estate. Duties entailed prospecting for clients, marketing homes, showing homes, preparing market analyses, preparing and presenting offers and counteroffers, negotiating sales contracts, researching home inspectors and repair persons, coordinating title companies, lenders, surveyors, inspectors, appraisers and others to achieve successful closing, and continuous education on real estate laws and regulations.

New Mexico Community Development Loan Fund

Researched funding sources and wrote proposals that raised over $6.5 million in 6 years. Hired, supervised and managed junior marketing staff and contract employees. Tracked and reported grant activities and budget allocations. Planned, coordinated and implemented special events. Served as primary liaison between Board of Directors and the organization. Wrote, designed and coordinated production of newsletters, annual reports, fund raising letters, press releases, fact sheets, brochures, invitation and other marketing publications. Maintained donor database records and lender promissory notes.


Development and Administrative Director

Re-Visioning New Mexico

Served as primary fundraiser and business manager for the organization. Supervised administrative staff, interns and volunteers. Managed direct mail and newsletter campaigns, from writing to distribution to income tracking and reporting. Researched and prepared grant proposals and reports. Directed all aspects of workshop programs and special events. Coordinated all bookkeeping, including processing checks, payroll, time sheets, data entry and tax reporting, as well as office management functions such as equipment maintenance, office supply purchasing and employee benefits management. Maintained donor database. Assisted with program research as needed.
