Manage correspondence between the business community and the paper, and submissions from other reporters in the newsroom. Write and organize briefs and graphics for the section. Occasionally shoot photos for stories.

Pitched ideas, helped shoot video and interviewed sources for World News with Charles Gibsondaily webcast. Assisted producers/editors with shoots and packaging stories for daily broadcasts. Pitched ideas and worked with ABC affiliates to obtain and log footage for 20/20 and Primetime investigative specials. Researched, logged footage and assisted with shoots for the 2006 midterm elections, a poverty special, and Primetime’s “What Would You Do?” series.

WFLS News Radio

Reported daily for air. Produced a 30-minute news program on sexual predators for air that won the 2006 Meritorious Award for Best Documentary by the Virginia Associated Press Broadcasters. A technology story was picked up by the Associated Press. Took photos for use on partner local news stations and newspapers. Uploaded photos, video and stories onto the web.
