• Provide face-to-face and email information advice to students and other stakeholders pertaining to graduate careers; • Research and develop new careers information resources based on an evaluation of user needs and tailoring the content of information based on the platform for its dissemination and the intended audience; • Maintain and update digital and paper based information resources, including webpages on the Careers Service website; • Contribute to service wide project groups, providing consultation on supporting information resources required to assist in the successful provision of careers fairs, presentations and workshops; • Present to students and facilitate group workshops on careers related topics, evaluating the best method to impart information and producing content based on the demonstrated need; and • Provide one-to-one CV feedback to students, requiring communications skills to be tailored to the individual’s learning preference and providing critique in a sensitive manner.

Cilip accredited course, where I undertook study in the topics of creation, storage, retrieval and dissemination of information in organisations and in society at large. Completed, and achieved distinction, in dissertation on the topic of copyright infringement policies in Scottish public libraries which allowed for research skills to be developed. The MSc programme also provided an introduction to a number of library classification and cataloguing systems, including MARC, BIBFRAME and metadata.

Developed my skills in working as part of a team through group work exercises and gained experience in the practical application of the law. Furthered my knowledge through courses such as ethics, practice management, accounting, conveyancing and civil and criminal procedure.

The LLB Scots Law covers a diverse range of legal topics including property law, commercial law, EU law, employment law, criminal law and private law. Undertook a semester of study at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, providing an opportunity to experience a different culture, engage with international students and demonstrate organisations skills in arranging accommodation, course modules and travel. Developed research and skills, having to undertake an a number of assignments on complex legal issues. Written course work also required writing skills to be demonstrated in order to provide coherent and well supported arguments. Took part in legal mooting exercise, which required legal arguments to be formulated and advocacy skills demonstrated. Awarded Robert Ross prize for Conveyancing and Robert MacFarlane bursary for Conveyancing
